Who are the Crusaders? Mr. Bible One day God had a plan to tell all of us how much He loves us. He was going to write us a love letter! God wrote this love letter over thousands of years, because he kept coming up with new ways to tell us just how much He loves us. God put His letters in a book, placed it carefully on top of a rock in Gloomy Gulch, the world’s saddest place, and waited for someone to pick it up. Many years passed before a sad little boy picked up that dusty old book. That little boy was Crusader Mike!
Crusader Mike - The Crusader in White
I used to live in a run down place called Gloomy Gulch until I found that dusty old book sitting on a dusty old rock. On the book was written “Holy Bible”, and when I opened the book it came to life. Soon Mr. Bible and I became the best of friends. We have gone on many journeys together and now we live together in Crusader Castle Crusader Chris- The Crusader in Green
Crusader Chris is my best friend from school (maybe you’ve heard of it), The Gloomy Gulch Academy of Silly Studies (oh GGASS we love yoouuuu). Crusader Chris was the smartest and most humble kid in school. When Mr. Bible and I couldn’t figure out how to build Crusader Castle, Crusader Chris was the first guy we called. Now whenever any of the Crusaders needs someone to help figure out tough problems or plan long journeys, we call on Crusader Chris. Crusader Dell - The Crusader in Purple
Crusader Dell was a boyhood friend of Crusader Chris and me, in fact Crusader Castle is right next door to Crusader Dell’s old home, “Casa de Slightly Different Crusadio”. One day Crusader Dell came over to Crusader Castle for dinner and he and I had a silly argument about having statues in a castle (Casa de Slightly Different Crusadio had no statues). He also wasn’t too crazy about my pets, Cat e Chism and Dogma (He thought they were making a mess in his backyard). Mr. Bible helped us to remember that we were really brothers in one big family, and no argument should separate brothers. Soon Crusader Dell, Chris and I were going on so many journeys together, that even the little disagreements disappeared. Crusader Dell now lives with the rest of the Crusaders in Crusader Castle. Crusader Joe - The Crusader in RedNobody quite knows where Crusader Joe comes from (some say Steubenville, some say God sent Joe to watch over Mr. Bible) because he just showed up and started working around Crusader Castle. Whenever anything needs to be done, Crusader Joe is there! We Crusaders used to think that Crusader Joe was the brother of Mr. Bible because they never seem to be apart. Wherever Crusader Joe comes from, one thing is certain, He’s the friendliest Crusader ever!
Lisa the Helpful We Crusaders were pretty much an all guy bunch until one day, many years ago, somebody left a basket in our front garden. When we looked in the basket we found a beautiful baby girl. That baby girl grew up to be Lisa the Helpful. Everywhere Lisa goes, love grows! Now, Lisa helps looks after the Crusaders to keep them on the right path. Dogma and Cat E Chism One day I was talking to my friend, Mr. Magisterium, and he kept talking about some things called Catechism and Dogma. I asked Mr. Magisterium what he meant by “dogma” and he said:
(very officiously)
“The word dogma signifies, in the writings of the ancient classical authors, sometimes, an opinion or that which seems true to a person; sometimes, the philosophical doctrines or tenets, and especially the distinctive philosophical doctrines, of a particular school of philosophers , and sometimes, a public decree or ordinance.”
And when I woke up, I asked Mr. Magisterium what all that meant. He laughed (he’s quite a funny guy) and said not to worry, that God wants us to be able to understand what He wants for us, and that the Church will teach us in a way we can understand. So to help us understand, Mr. Magisterium has let his pets, Dogma and Cat E Chism, stay with us at Crusader Castle to teach us about the faith. Together with Mr. Bible, Dogma and Cat E Chism teach us how to follow God! Bible Junior Bible Junior is the Crusaders' adventure bible. He loves to wander around and meet new people. He also uses language that Crusaders Mike and Dell can always understand. Whenever the Crusaders begin a new journey, their first job is to remember not to forget Bible Junior! | | |
